How to play Sudoku Puzzles
Sudoku Puzzle Rules
Each Sudoku puzzle has a unique solution that can be reached
logically without guessing. To play the game, you must enter digits
from 1 to 9 into the blank spaces on the Sudoku puzzle board. Every 3x3 square
must contain one of each digit, and every row and every column must also
contain each digit only once. When the entire board is filled, and these
conditions are met, the board is solved.
Sudoku Controls
Use the left mouse button to select numbers along the left edge of the game screen, or press
the desired number on the keyword to activate it. Once a number is activated, you can place it
on the Sudoku puzzle board by moving the cursor to the desired location and then pressing the left mouse button.
You may also remove or replace numbers by pressing the left mouse button while the cursor is over the tile again.
Pencil Marks
Sudoku XP also allows you to enter pencil marks onto the Sudoku puzzle board. Pencil marks allow you to place
multiple numbers into a single tile location, which is useful when you are still not sure of the exact number that
should be entered for a particular tile. Use the right mouse button to enter/remove pencil marks, or click the TEST button located
to the right of the Sudoku puzzle board to activate pencil marking mode and then use the left mouse button to insert the pencil marks.
Pencil marking mode can be turned off by clicking on the PLACE button.
Sudoku Sounds
Sound effects in the online Sudoku XP puzzle game can be turned on or off by pressing
the "Sound Off" button or by pressing the 'S' key on the keyboard.
